Dorothy Heffron

Dot is running for school board in Chesterfield County, where she was raised and now lives with her husband and their three children who now attend the same schools that she did.
She has a proven record of public service and community leadership. Dot is an educator with Chesterfield County Public Schools, where she has also served on the Special Education Advisory Committee. Dot has been an education advocate for nearly ten years, and served her community as an ESL tutor and as a volunteer on her synagogue’s school leadership committee.
The daughter of a retired law enforcement officer, Dot comes from a strong tradition of civic responsibility. From her volunteer work as a tutor to starting her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, her values have always been informed by her upbringing and faith. The central focus of her work as a school board member will be to provide every student in this county with the highest-quality resources and support, regardless of the school district and building a culture of inclusion and diversity.
Dot is looking forward to serving on the school board, as it is another opportunity to serve her community.
