President Obama focuses on Gay Rights in Inaugural Address
President Barack Obama, in what is being described as a much more liberal inaugural address than his last in 2009, made many references to the challenges the nation faces, and the importance of working together, as a nation, to overcome those challenges.
Obama took a moment to focus on gay rights, saying, “Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.”
We congratulate the President on his reelection, and his inauguration; and we thank him for his commitment to equality for all people.
