Marcus Simon
Delegate Marcus Simon is a lifelong resident of Fairfax County, where he currently resides with his wife Rachel, and two children, Emily and Zachary.
Marcus’s public service career began right after graduating college when he went to work for former Delegate Jim Scott as a legislative aide. From there, he worked for the Providence District Supervisor and then the Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
After graduating from Law School, Marcus received his Commission as an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. His first assignment was the Military District of Washington and Ft. Myer, in Arlington. As an Army Captain, Marcus served as a prosecutor and also as a part time Special Assistance United States Attorney.
In 2008, Marcus co-founded the Law Firm of Leggett, Simon, Freemyers & Lyon and Ekko Title, a real estate settlement, title and escrow company. In 2015, he began his term as the Chair of the Board of the McLean Chamber of Commerce and served on the Fairfax County Ad Hoc Police Practices Review Committee.
Elected to the House of Delegates in 2013, Marcus is running for re-election this year. He currently serves on the House Committee on Militia, Police, & Public Safety and the House Committee on Science & Technology.
