Mario Haggerty

Mario D. Haggerty is the Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 67th House District. He proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, enlisting in 1996, earning his commission in 2005, and retiring as a naval officer in 2019. After active duty, he continued his commitment to national defense as a project manager at the Naval Surface Warfare Center–Dahlgren and the Missile Defense Agency.

Education-wise, Mario holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s in Human Relations.

In his community, he’s an active leader—having served on the boards of the Colonial Beach Performing Arts Association, Beach Arts Music & Mentorship, and as President of the Potomac Renaissance Homeowners Association; he’s also on the board of Placid Bay Estates Civic Association, and the current chair for the Westmoreland County Democratic Committee.

Now a single father of a sophomore at George Mason University, Mario emphasizes transparency, accessibility, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
