District 38
Sam Rasoul has been serving Virginians as the delegate from Roanoke since he was first elected in 2014. During his time in the General Assembly, he has consistently prioritized everyday Virginians and the future of our planet in the legislation he has carried.
He has a passion for identifying common struggles we all share, and bringing people together to fight for the common good. In 2016, he launched the Impact Center, which has helped support and train more than 3,000 activists and candidates across Virginia to win through the science of trust and coalition-building.
His guiding philosophy starts with the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would want to be treated. Sam leads with his values of Truth, Love, and Grit.
Sam lives in Roanoke with his spouse, Layaly, and their three children.
