As a mom, an advocate, a private business owner and a spouse – I know that the reasons that many of us work so hard is to serve those we care about and love. I lost my bridal seamstress business this last year due to the Covid pandemic, so I know how people are struggling with just getting by right now. I am a gun violence survivor, so I know how to listen to those responding to tragic events in their histories. I have been an advocate for gun violence prevention, worked on high school voter registration, worked with adult ESL learners, social justice leagues and worked on suicide prevention. I founded the Chesapeake School Safety Coalition in order to help make our Chesapeake public schools be safer and feel safer for ALL in our community. Put me to work. Let’s do things differently.
