City of Martinsville resident for over 50 years – Graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1975; Patrick Henry Community College 1976; Graduate, BFA, Virginia Commonwealth University 1980 – Single mother – graphic/exhibit designer with the Virginia Museum of Natural History for over 25 years, now retired – I have served as an election official twice for the City of Martinsville, VA – I am an activist for women’s rights and local affordable and appropriate housing – I am running for the Virginia House of Delegates, 48th District because my motto is “no election unopposed” – To have a candidate just walk into the position without any contest seems undemocratic and unjust – I am giving the voters in HD 48 a choice – I have a list of positions I am passionate about, and my top three platform includes:
1. Women’s Rights, Civil Rights, LGBT Rights: ALL Human Rights
2. Education Funding
3. Affordable Housing and Healthcare
