Remembering Michael Barber
He was a mentor to me when I got into political activism back in 2000 for LGBTQ+ causes. Michael Barber was very supportive of our caucus. He was the Tidewater Chair for many years. I stand on Michael Barber‘s shoulders today, as I have been actively involved in Democratic politics ever since 2000. I live in Arlington now, but Michael always seemed close by. And anytime I needed his help, he was there for me.

LGBT+ Democrats of Virginia joins National Stonewall Democrats
LGBT+ Democrats of Virginia, the LGBT Caucus of the Democratic Party of Virginia, joined the National Federation of Stonewall Democrats. The caucus was accepted as a member of the national organization on Monday, March 24th. During the initial iteration of National Stonewall Democrats, Virginia was represented by the Virginia Partisans Gay and Lesbian Democratic Club, the precursor to the caucus. In 2013, Virginia Partisans and the caucus merged to form what is now LGBT+ Democrats of Virginia.
